We recently teamed up with swim specialists Let's Asia to run the Kids HYROX × Swim Training Camp — Bangkok's first camp of its kind, combining ASA's land-based functional training with Let's Asia's professional swim coaching over two days.

The field and the pool were both full of focused faces and kids cheering each other on. It turned out to be a genuinely rewarding collaboration. In this post we'll share how the two days went, and why we're continuing this partnership going forward.

Camp overview

  • Program: Kids HYROX × Swim Training Camp
  • Dates: Monday, August 17 – Tuesday, August 18, 2026
  • Venue: LETS ASIA × FSB School (Soi 31)
  • Hours: 9:00 AM – 2:15 PM
  • Ages: 5–13
  • Co-hosted by: Advance Sports Academy × Let's Asia

The theme was "Run. Jump. Swim." — a functional training program built around HYROX, combined with professional swim coaching. It's a special "land × water" program only possible through the ASA × Let's Asia partnership, designed to help kids challenge themselves, support each other, and build athletic ability, fitness, and confidence.

How each day worked — two age groups, swapping between morning and afternoon

Both days followed the same structure: kids were split into a 4–6 age group and a 7–13 age group, and the two groups swapped between HYROX and swimming between morning and afternoon.

  • Morning: the 4–6 group did swimming, the 7–13 group did HYROX
  • Afternoon: the 4–6 group did HYROX, the 7–13 group did swimming

Running this same structure on both days meant every child, in either age group, got to properly experience both "land" and "water." We adjusted the difficulty and pacing of each drill by age, so even the youngest kids could take on the challenge without feeling overwhelmed.

The HYROX part: pushing the body through functional training

In the ASA-led land session, we started by gathering everyone in a circle so coaches could walk through the day's plan and safety points. Many of the kids were meeting each other for the first time, and while there was some nervousness at first, the smiles came out fast once everyone got moving.

Children listening to the coaches' briefing

From a running warm-up on the nearby streets, to sprints for explosive speed, to partner-supported carries and planks, the kids worked through a HYROX-inspired circuit. Rather than just chasing individual times, we built in plenty of pair and team exercises where kids encouraged each other — developing teamwork right alongside fitness.

Inside the gym, kids also took on team ball games. Passing the ball to teammates naturally builds communication skills and quick decision-making. Sweaty and out of breath, the kids kept sprinting flat-out right to the very end — a great thing to watch.

The swim part: professional coaching from Let's Asia

In the Let's Asia-led swim session, specialist swim coaches worked through the basics one at a time — kicking, breathing, form — with each child progressing at their own level. Poolside, we saw plenty of focused faces: kids trying a stroke for the first time, others adjusting their form the moment a coach gave a tip.

Taking on both HYROX and swimming on the same day let kids carry the fitness they built on land straight into focusing on proper form in the water — something unique to this program. Being able to add specialist "water" coaching that ASA's regular lessons alone don't cover was a big learning experience, both for the kids and for us as coaches.

What the kids gained from this camp

We built the program around four things we wanted the kids to take away from these two days.

  • Speed, power, and endurance: building overall fitness in a balanced way to raise all-round athletic ability
  • Body awareness and movement skills: learning correct body mechanics to build a stronger, more agile body
  • Teamwork and cooperation: growing communication and collaboration skills, and forming friendships that last
  • Confidence through achievement: building self-esteem and a positive mindset through small wins and new challenges

Over the two days, kids who looked tense at first ended up wiping the sweat off their faces and grinning as they told us "I did it!" — again and again. Watching not just their athletic ability but their willingness to take on challenges, and their care for their teammates, grow right in front of us was something the whole coaching staff got to witness firsthand.

About the collaboration with Let's Asia

ASA specializes in land-based sports education; Let's Asia specializes in swim coaching. By bringing two schools with different specialties together, we were able to give kids high-quality instruction in both "land" and "water" learning environments. Let's Asia shares our belief in building children's athletic ability and confidence — which is exactly why this camp didn't feel like a one-off event, but the start of something we want to keep going.

We learned a lot from Let's Asia's professionalism and the way each of their coaches connected with every single child. This was a two-day reminder that when schools with different specialties work together, the range of experiences we can offer kids grows enormously.

What's next — building on this partnership

This camp turned out to be a genuinely valuable two days for us, too. There are still plenty of kids in Bangkok who don't often get the chance to try a "land × water" combined program like this one. We plan to keep collaborating with Let's Asia regularly, and we're already planning our next camp. We'll share details here on the blog, on LINE, and on social media as soon as they're set — stay tuned.
